23 Stories 4 – Interview with John Toner

For the fourth part of our 23 stories feature leading to the opening of the Grand Central Hotel Belfast, we talk to John Toner, a long-serving member of the Hastings Hotels team who has fond memories of his time, during the early days of his career at the original Grand Central Hotel.

In this short interview John takes a trip down memory lane remembering what the hospitality industry was like in Northern Ireland in the late 1960’s and how it was impacted by the Troubles, while also outlining his hopes for the new hotel and the revival of the Grand Central brand.
